One of ANED's objectives is to promote greater understanding of European laws and policies that affect disabled people (for example, European Legislation, communications and resolutions of the Council, Parliament and Commission, and of associated committees).
During 2008 relevant legislation at the European level has been reviewed in the report Annotated review of European legislation which makes a difference'. During 2009 this report has been further elaborated and updated and is available now: Annotated review of European Union law and policy with reference to disability.
This mapping of disability law across a range of policy areas does provide important information about progress in mainstreaming disability. It will also help to identify priority areas for future policy development in implementing the EU Disability Action Plan and the UN Convention.
